The Soho Hotel

posted by Shaon on 5 July 2009 at 21:47

The Soho Hotel provided for a great stay during my stay in London, 3 months back. The rooms are huge with excellent decor and ambiance. Room service was excellent and very timely. The location is very good with all the major attractions being close to it. The breakfast has plenty of options to choose from. The nights were very silent and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The entrance of the hotel is very impressive to look at. Though the hotel is small, it is well maintained and I definitely recommend it.

Royal National Theatre

posted by awesme on 3 July 2009 at 15:16

it is so pleasant to walk across the Waterloo Bridge, have a drink or supper and go to a concert, play or ballet at the National Theater. The venue is superb for all kinds of events. Pricing is very fair, and productions are top line. The gift shops include resources for professionals as well as souvenirs. Backstage tours are available daily. The front halls and foyers include free exhibitions and sight seeing over the Thames.

Westminster Abbey

posted by awesme on 3 July 2009 at 15:00

The Abbey is one of my favorite places in all the world: it remains primarily an absolutely glorious worship space offering Holy communion as well as Morning and Evening Prayer daily. Steeped in history, monuments and tombs abound, with many wonderful surprises to discover among the royalty, poets, artists, and others buried here. The inscription at Queen Exlizabeth I's tomb is poignant as is standing in the spot where Thomas a Becket was killed. Walking in the cloisters provides a deep connection with the monastic prayers offered here for centuries, especially when watching the paving stones for the names or stories of monks. Taking time to do brass rubbings, attend services or listen to concerts endears the Abbey to any visitor for its contemporary life as well as its history.
