El Porto Beach

I've always wanted to try surfing and so we went for the day to here, which is apparently great for beginners. We hired boards, plus instructor, and were off! So much harder than it looks but at the same time a bucketload of fun!

We were on a stopover at LAX for 5 hours and so we took a trip down to the beach to stretch our legs and see the sea. Fun trip and much better than sitting at the airport being bored.

Our family loved this area as there is something for everyone. They could leave me at the beach whilst the girls went shopping and the boys went on the carvial-style rides. Great place.

Venice Beach

World famous, it was another in my long line of 'must do' things in LA and I was blown away! Everything that was promised and more, so many toned hunks everywhere and great street performers, and theat was before I even made it in for a surf...

For the quintessential Los Angeles experience nothing beats Beach House at Hermosa Beach. Only 10 minutes from the airport but feels like a different world. The ideal boutique hotel.
