This place is quite a testament to the generally culturally confused kitsch of Los Angeles. It was built by Graumann in the 1920s after the success of his Egyptian theatre. In fairness to him it is fairly well engineered and looks almost authentic. Definitely worth a visit for sheer wierdness. Also be sure to check out the footprints of the stars outside!

You can tour this historic ocean liner that also provided troop transport during WWII. It has been restored and now they have tours, guest rooms and a ghosts and legends show that is both fun and informative. It is a great view into the past.
