Stunning architecture, great views, and a wonderful collection. The highlight of my holiday in Los Angeles.

What an extraordinary collection of art! So many excellent pieces from the renaissance and the old masters I jsut loved it here. I can't imagine the fortune you would need to set up your own private collection like this!

I have never been to the famous London location of Madame Tussauds but was taken to the newly opened one in Los Angeles. Based in Hollywood it is home to some fantastic statues of all your favourite Hollywood heroes.

When I was looking for a family friendly attraction in Los Angeles that was not a theme park, or a motion picture studio, one of my friends suggested Griffiths Observatory. It is a free space and science museum, that has lots of great hands on exhibitions that the kids loved, plus we got to see the planetarium show, which they also loved.

This is the coolest museum, especially for kids, since it is right in the middle of downtown Los Angeles and shows how the area was 10,000 to 40,000 years ago, during the last ice age. On this site are real fossils of extinct creatures that roamed the Los Angeles basin. It is a very interesting place, since you can't really imagine the dinosaur-type creatures roaming around. The Museum has life-size replicas of many of these animals. The museum is constantly finding new fossils and bones and has done carbon-14 dating to authenticate the age of many of these relics. This is highly recommended and very interesting.
