Palacio Real

We took the official tour and thoroughly enjoyed looking around this totally majestic building. The five Stradivarius violins were a total treat but the Throme Room was pretty special too.

We were staying in the Lavapies area and this square was our local evening nightspot. Wonderful vibe but occasionally a bit scary late at night!

I know it's obvious but Guernica absolutely blew my mind. Loved it. There was other stuff that was great too, notably Miro, but the Picasso masterpiece was the best of all.

Templo de Debod

Wow, I never knew there was a real Egyptian Temple in Madrid!! Shipped over in pieces when it was removed from Egypt to escape the Aswan High Dam flooding, it now occupies a stunning spot boasting views of the gardens towards the Palacio Real.
