After I saw a performance at the Madrid Opera House, my wife and I were looking for a place to have a night cap, and that is when we came across 1917 Blinis & Vodkas. It was not too crowded, but had great service and an amazing selection of Vodkas to sample.

The Sofitel Madrid Plaza de Espana is centrally located to everything that you would want to see in Madrid. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are really really good. Our room had a balcony on it with a small patio table and lounge chairs which was nice specially at night before you turned in. The bathrooms are large and the guest services staff are very courteous and efficient. I would recommend this place.

For military history buffs, there is no better museum to visit in Madrid than the Museo Naval, which is dedicated to the long and illustrious history of the Spanish Navy. For many years, Spain was a sea power, with colonies in the Americas, and it took a large fleet to protect them. Visitors will learn about these ships, as well as the Spanish Armada.

This is an ancient cathedral built back in the late 1800s. It is awe inspiring and amazing by the sheer size and amazing architechture. The stained glass throughout the building captures the imagination. Tour at your own pace, it is free all day!

Madrid's Royal Palace is a must see attraction when visiting this city. It is just a short walk from the opera stop on the metro. When you get there you can stroll the impressive courtyards that lead to the palace. Once inside you can take the 45 minute guided tour or for one euro less wander around by yourself. The armory is most impressive. The Palace rooms are completely over the top. The Palace was built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The grounds are beautiful. Do not take flash photography.
