It's increadible to think of this collection belonging to private hands, the scope and range is pretty increadible, and you really can see the whole range of European paintings plus the wildly underrated American Nineteenth Century Paintings!

Insider tip: free on Wednesdays so get there early! Great art collection, and the rooms are so stunning, particularly the throne room. Gardens are great too and you can get into these for free any time.

We went here the day after the Prado and were enthralled again! The collection is so different to the iconic gallery, but just as lovely in my opinion. It was quite a bit quieter too which is always a plus in my book.

Lovely lovely museum in the 'museum triangle'. Largely Spanish art, with Picasso's Guernica standing as the centrepiece of the collection. It was fabulous, I could have stayed there looking at it until they kicked me out.

You can't come to Madrid and not go here, can you? I was totally taken with it, the collection in general and the building were both superb. I loved the Velazqeuz and Goya art the best I think because I haven't had much chance to see anything by them and it was a real treat.
