Apprently this is the world's oldest restaurant! There are some true specialities on the menu - suckling pig and a delicious lamb dish that I had when we went. The Castilian wood oven dates back to 1725!

If you are looking for an excellent restaurant in Madrid that serves not only traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine, but also represents the entire Mediterranean region, then be sure to visit Horcher during your trip. While a bit on the pricy side, it has that old world charm that I think has been slowly vanishing over the years.

I gave my birthday party in this hotel. From that time I am big fan of this hotel because the food provided by them is delicious and the service is excellent. Not only me but my friends also impressed. I went nearly four times after that. It is one of the best restaurants I visited.

This tapa and ale bar is near the Gran Villa, a very upscale shopping street in Madrid, and serves generous portions for a small price. It is in a rural setting and a good break from the glitz. You can find it at map coordinates latitude:40.4204826355 and longitude: -3.6989569664 if you have a GPS unit. The Madrid Sevillo as well as the Gran Via Metro stations are also about 1/10th of a mile from the restaurant.
