This is an ancient cathedral built back in the late 1800s. It is awe inspiring and amazing by the sheer size and amazing architechture. The stained glass throughout the building captures the imagination. Tour at your own pace, it is free all day!

Madrid's Royal Palace is a must see attraction when visiting this city. It is just a short walk from the opera stop on the metro. When you get there you can stroll the impressive courtyards that lead to the palace. Once inside you can take the 45 minute guided tour or for one euro less wander around by yourself. The armory is most impressive. The Palace rooms are completely over the top. The Palace was built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The grounds are beautiful. Do not take flash photography.

My favorite thing I did in Madrid was visit Bernabeu Stadium. This is the stadium of Real Madrid. I did not get to see a football game, but they offer tours of the stadium everyday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The visit includes a panoramic view of the Stadium from the main stand which comes off the museum, entrance into the Presidential box and changing rooms and entrance to the player's tunnel, benches and coaching area.
