This cathedral is majestic. We took one trip away from the beach into Palma to see the sights whilst we were on holiday in Majorca and it was definitely the highlight.

Wow, what a magnificent building! You can clearly see its Moorish roots but there are some wonderful Gaudi touches that are totally unexpected and really add to the overall effect.

Built by modifying a former mosque as many churches in the moorish-turned-christian areas this cathedral was started in 1306 as a thanks to the seas for not letting Jaime I'sts fleets get shipwrecked, and was added to by the inimitable Gaudi in the 20th century. Amazing architecture both inside and out, I can see why it's one of the most important sights in the Balearics!
