Almudaina Palace

This once Arab then Spanish palace is an impressive and imposing building. Make time to chill out in the beautiful S'Hort des Rei Gardens around the palace too.

This is a beuatiful place. Originally it was a moorish citadel and I love the moorish architecture. It was then a palace and todau it's a museum showing off the palace to it's fullest.

la Almudaina

This is quite a magical building and all the more so for the fact that it still gets used in the summer months when the royal family holiday here. The initial structure was a Moorish palace but when the Moors lost control of Majorca, it became the seat of the independent monarchy of Majorca. You can see the fusion of Muslim and Gothic styles which are very interesting.

Almudaina Palace

The palace once housed Moorish governors and Mallorcan kings. It is now owned by the Spanish Royal Family. The day we tried to visit it was closed due to a private function so be sure to check the opening times! We returned a few days later and thoroughly recommend the audio tour and walking through the well maintained gardens to enjoy the views.
