Hotel Silken

This hotel was ideal for our short break in Malaga. It is situated just a stones throw from the station and has great views of the beach and surrounding area.

Trip to Melilla

posted by kmary on 7 December 2010 at 11:46

It's possible to get a ferry to Melilla, a Spanish enclave on the coast of North Africa, which makes for a really fun overnight trip. Lovely to look round and see a slightly different side of life, plus you can say you've been to africa!!

La Manquita

The one-armed-lady is Malaga's cathedral, so-called because it's only got one tower, although it looks so lopsided two would have been better! It's gorgeous inside and it's really cool to see bits of the old mosque it was built on top of.

El Chorro Gorge

posted by vbellinger on 7 December 2010 at 11:45

My friends and I were on a road trip down through Spain and we ended up here one day so we decided to be extreme and try to get to or walk the King's Walkway, a path high up at the edge of the gorge, crumbling a bit now. We made the climb up and a few steps along but then chickened out. EXTREME! The rest of the gorge was lovely though and well worth visiting.

Zona El Paulo

The promenade was the focus for my mates' and I every evening pretty much. It's so nice to walk by the beach a bit, get some delicious sea food, and then go on to one of the numerous trendy bars there. Definitely check it out here, we didn't have a bad night our whole holiday.
