You can't really escape these in Malaga and neither should you wish to as they are the star attraction in my book! Fun places to walk around and great views to boot.

You can't go to Malaga and not come here can you? It towers above the place and even when you're on the beach you feel like you ought to go! And it's pretty fantastic, the building, the views, wow.

Along with its conjoined twin la Alcazaba this was the most exciting place we saw in Malaga. I love the history of the buildings and the views are ace too.

Going up the hill in Malaga and exploring the two fortresses was the best thing I did in Malaga, the buildings are really interesting and the views are amazing!

It is easy to forget that at one point Spain was under the control of the Moors for a good point of its history. When visiting Malaga it is very evident, as that is the site of the almost 1000 year old Alcazaba, an impressive fortress dating back to Moorish occupation. In addition to enjoying the citadel itself, and seeing the history exhibits there, I really enjoyed the view from the top of the wall, it gave a great view of all of Malaga.
