No trip to Marrakech is complete without a trip here, the heart of the city where people gather to perform, sell, meet, eat and drink. A great place to get some hearty food for a great price, just don't expect veggie options to be completely meat free, seems to be the Moroccan way to add just a little goat or chicken 'for flavour'!

Some tourists I spoke to were unsure about going here by night but it's the most exciting time to go. Fires and lights change the whole atmopsphere, and musicians, circus performers and entertainers are really amazing. Definitely try it!

This is a pretty touristy way to spend an evening but it's really good fun if you put considerations of authenticity to one side. It's just outside town and comprises - over the course of four hours - a four course meal, performances by belly dancers and musicians as well as displays by camels and horses. The whole evening is rounded off with a great firework display.

The Jami' alFna' is Marrakech's central market place. Its a great spot to eat in the evening when all the street food vendors come out. There's also plenty in the way of entertainment with live music and snake charmers
