The throbbing heart of the city isn't always pretty but there's so much to see you can grab a cafe seat and watch the world go by, eat delicious food or just wander about day or night.

This market square is inescapable, and why would you want to? There's so much going on here it's almost overwhelming when you first go, but head back and you'll be rewarded with some great food and drink, and if you can tuck yourself away in a cafe the people-watching is second to none!

No trip to Marrakech is complete without a trip here, the heart of the city where people gather to perform, sell, meet, eat and drink. A great place to get some hearty food for a great price, just don't expect veggie options to be completely meat free, seems to be the Moroccan way to add just a little goat or chicken 'for flavour'!

My boyfriend and I couldn't get enough of the atmosphere and the food here, day or night it was always buzzing and interesting. The locals responded really well to us being a bit mad and juggling with glow-balls which always draws a crowd!
