I love finding out about the history of a place when on holiday and the city walls were really good. known as the medina of marrakech they were built around 1070. They are beautiful, changing colour throughout the day, especially at sunset.

I love old buildings and this is an influential one, inspiring designs of many more across europe, particularly spain. Not being muslim, i couldn't go inside but the minaret, topped with shiny metal balls is spectacular. Definitely worth going to see.

The Jami' alFna' is Marrakech's central market place. Its a great spot to eat in the evening when all the street food vendors come out. There's also plenty in the way of entertainment with live music and snake charmers
