There is nothing better than wandering through the souks, don't let anyone guide you anywhere, they'll charge you and you'll miss out. I love the spices piled high all fragrant and vibrantly coloured and the fruits and vegetables, just perfect for making a slap-up meal safe in the knowledge that this is fresh from the fields.

Start off at the archway at Jemaa el Fna and let your feet do the walking!

Marrakesh's main souq is like nothing I've ever seen! although it feels very tourist orientated now, some bits are much more traditional feeling. I spent a day in the souq- you should be prepared to get lost as its a complete labyrinth

The Souks is a market where you can buy all kinds of handcrafted basket, copper and other Moroccan artifacts. Do not forget to bargain and haggle on the price. This market is one location that is a must to visit for people that like to have locally made products. Of course you have to be careful what you buy but guaranteed you will find a souvenir or memorabilia from Marrakesh!

Get in a taxi and tell him to go to the souks. They will drive you there.
