These were the gardens owned and designed by Yves Saint Laurent. They're really beautiful and showcase a massive range of cactuses and other tropical plants. The gardens are laid out amidst vivid deep blue walls and huge teracotta pots. A really beautiful little oasis in the madness

When the hustle and bustle, as well as all the people bugging my friends and I, got too much then we loved to ehad to the garden here and sit by the pool a bit. Lovely relaxing place, peace and quiet abound.

In the heat of Marrakech there's nothing better than than going for a dip in a nice pool, and this one is really nice, although you'll pay through the nose for it! Great for a day's relaxation if you just can't take the hust, bustle and hassle of the locals any more, especially if you're a group of girls with a bit of spare money

Circuit de la Palmeraie, out on the road heading north of the city, you'll need a car of a taxi which is pretty pricey too

Admission to the Menara Gardens is free and whilst its hardly the most exciting spot in all of Marrakech, it is a very attractive place and a good place to cool off and calm down. There is a big lake in the middle of the gardens with a picturesque 19th century pavilion on the shore. You can't get in to the pavilion.
