We had an amazing day out here that the whole family enjoyed from young to old. The open plan enclosures really give you a happy feeling for the animals and I was overjoyed to finally see a platypus in real life as they were my favourite animal as a child, although i'd only ever seen them in pictures.

This island in the river was once just a wasteground, but today it's a haven of wildlife and beautiful environmental sculpture. Go!

What an amazing building, I'd be happy if my council house was so eco-friendly! We booked on the tour and it was fascinating.

Great family fun day out. This old dump is now a thriving eco community and they have loads of things for kids to do as well as some rather tasty food.

A real hit with the kids, and a beautiful old fashioned carnival. Look out for the carousel in particular but try to steer cleer of the terrifying moon thing!!
