The oldest and best-known collection of Australian art is in the Ian Potter Centre in Federation Square, and you can see it for free! Amazing collection, so much to see and so many different media used it kept the whole thing feeling fresh and interesting. Definitely a must-see since it's central and free, the building is wicked too!

I've been to Melbourne several times on business and I love to walk by the river and look at both the natural and man-made scenery. There' always some great art, something a bit quirky going on, and lovely architecture to life your day.

My girlfriend and I really loved it here, the variety of the mediums used as well as the projects themselves was great, and really inspiring. I loved the performance-space type ones the best as I normally do because being immersed in soemone's off-beat idea is generally good fun!

Highlights of Flinders Lane are many, it's the spirit of Melbourne rolled into one little street. It has a mixture of chic and bohemia rubbing shoulders comfortably with it's many cafes, restaurants, independent designers and galleries. Little things to check out are the Citylights also located in Hosier Lane. Which showcases art to the public 24-hours a day using wall mounted lightboxes. It has become a popular area for graffiti artists who work with stencils (...I wonder if my stencil art is still up there...)
