This is just a fabulous place! At the historic MCG there's loads of memorabilia and interactive things to do. We're all sports freaks so everyone from the oldies to the kids were happy to be there.

The oldest art museum in Australia is definitely worth your time. I thoroughly enjoyed it here and the collections are amazing, going all the way from Egyptian to really modern stuff. Fascinating, and free!

This is a funny little site to stumble across when walking in the Fitzroy Gardens. It's a tiny little cottage from somewhere in Yorkshire which was deconstructed and transported to Melbourne, completely with period furnishings. There is a LOT of information inside and some lovely gardens. Well worth a visit.

The Shrine of Remembrance is a really beautiful piece of classical architecture and a must see for all architecture buffs. It commemorates the service of people of Victoria in World War I. Amazingly there is a bit of the roof which lets light through only on 11th November every year to illuminate word "love" inscribed on the wall of the Memorial.
