Cenote San Ignacio

posted by vdiller on 6 June 2009 at 03:31

A Cenote is an underground sinkhole filled with crystal clear freshwater and an amazing diving experience. You are provided with all the equipment you need, so you don't have to bring anything, unless you don't want to use shared snorkeling gear. The guides are great. You can see strait to the bottom of the the cave, and have a couple of hours to enjoy it. There are also bathrooms and dressing rooms there. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the experience. I absolutely recommend it for visitors to the Yucatan.

where, when, how, web
It's 20 minutes South of Merida, capital of the Yucatan. It's easier to take a bus from Merida there. You can find a bus to get there on 69 x 68 and 70 streets.
