You can see the gleaming gold domes from across the city, and the close-up experience doesn't disappoint! Fabulous place, made all the more remarkable by the fact that it was demolished in 1933 and then rebuilt after the fall of comunism!

The Christ the Redeemer church sits on the North Bank of the Moskva and is an enormous edifice- the biggest in the Orthodox world. It has an extraordinary history and has only existed in its current form since 1998 when it was reconstructed after Stalin's destruction of the original church had left the site a massive swimming pool! There's also a free museum on the site.
