Unbelievable building and a pretty spectacular colleciton to match. Priceless art works compete with prehistoric relics and folk ceramics also thrown in there. A feast!

VDNKh Exhibition

THis is the all Russian exhibition centre founded under the Soviets as a celebration of the constant progress of the soviets. The grounds and monuments are kitsch in the extreme and a number of the former exhibition spaces are now comercially owned. However there's still much remaining from the Communists including the fantastic monument to Uri Gargarin and the Soviet space program.

This is considered a must see for visitors to Moscow as it is the former headquarters of the NKVD and KGB and therefore a place of some significance - not least because hundreds of people were tortured here during the soviet reign. Frustratingly, non Russians are not allowed around the museum except in a guided tour and to be honest, we found it quite dull and macarbre. There is some beautiful architecture but that's hardly what you're here to see.

Being a fan of the poet, this was just fabulous. I can't believe how much he wrote and all the relics that people have sent in to add to the collection. Probably only want to stay an hour or so if you're not a big fan but well worth it as the building is interesting too.
