The Museo de la Ciudad gives a detailed and thorough history of the development of Murcia through the ages from the pre historic age to the present day. I was particularly interested by the accounts of the part that Murcians played in the uprising against the French forces during the peninsula war. There are also seminars and concerts organised by the museum which I imagine would be worth catching if your visit happens to coincide with any.

The Museo de Bellas Artes in Murcia has a really fine collection and is cursted in a lucid chronological order. Its not hard to take an interest in paintings of the Spanish baroque and a fine collection of Ribera canvases is a particular highlight of this gallery. There is also a wide sculpture and archaeology collection.

The cathedral which is located at the plaza del Cardinal Belluga . There are different entrance doors for this building. All of them have their own treasure. The main entrance, called puerta del perdon . The north door called portada de las cadenas leads to impressive capilla mayor decorated with lots of gold . There are museums inside the cathedral, never forgot to visit them. Right outside the Cathedral you will find the city hall and the Palacia Episcopal and the house of the Bishop of murcia.

Museo Salzillo Museum is a museum that has been dedicated to a famous sculptor of the 18th century, Francisco Salzillo. Most of his sculptures are neatly preserved and exhibited for the public to view. As a fanatic of Art, I enjoyed every minute of my visit to the museum and for lovers of art, this is a must visit.
