The Castle of Ibiza is the perfect escape from all the partying and beaches that this wonderful city is so obviously known for. It’s very unassuming from a distance, considering its nestled into a hill, but as you enter the grounds (via a neat draw bridge in Old Ibiza Town), you’ll start to notice all these little homes actually built in and around the vast structure. One thing though you must do when there is make your way to the top of the castle, the view of the city and beach are absolutely priceless. No joke.

Madrid’s Plaza Mayor has the look and feel of the quintessential plaza of Old Europe. It’s the perfect place in the city centre to kick back and sip on some Spanish wine, munch on some tapas, and just take it all in. If you can arrange it so you’re there around dusk, that’s an amazing time to soak it up. Loads of people are out (both locals and tourists), and no matter which direction you’re looking…pristine visages await you. There’s plenty of affordable hotels and hostels within walking distance, and safety and security is a given.

Granted the Duomo is likely the most popular tourist attraction in Milan, but it’s definitely earned that distinction. Pure beauty. As you approach this cathedral, you can feel it in the air that you’re nearing something holy, massive and almost unreal. Once inside, it’s dark as ever and perfect for setting the ambience. Ladies, you’ll need to cover up your shoulders and legs…just an fyi. I would also recommend you pay the few Euro’s fee to get to the top of the roof. The scenic views of the city are breathtaking, and to gets so close to the spires is priceless. You gotta go!

Newbury Street is a must for visitors to Boston. First of all, I should let you know that this comment is coming from a non-shopper. And granted that is one of the major highlights of this destination, but believe me that is not ALL this place has to offer. The people-watching is a must-see with a total melting pot of both locals and domestic and foreign tourists alike. However, there’s also ample food and dessert options, plus a few drinking holes too. To me the icing on the cake was the ebullient park that Newbury Street feeds into. Just a perfect place to unwind and take a load off after putting some good mileage on the feet.
