We had to go here just for the great name and discovered a rather swish governmental building. We joined a free tour and got to eyeball all the rooms which was great fun.

I met up with a friend in Tokyo for a couple of days on a tour of Japan and he took me here to this moutain for a days' hiking. So pretty and totally unexpected, a world apart from the stereoypical Tokyo experience.

Normally when you head to a city you expect to pay through the nose for a bird's eye view of the city, but in Tokyo there are loads of free places to choose from, such a treat! I went to the Bunkyo Civic Centre, St Luke's Garden Observatory and Harumi Passenger Boat Terminal Observatory.

A perfect kids' day out! You can get close to loads of birds plus monkeys and meerkats (and more). The injured bird caring quarters were so adorable!

Quite an amazing location, the wouthernmost tip of Africa, with nothing but miles and miles of sea in front of you. We spent a couple of days visiting Table Mountain National Park and saw baboons, zebra and a whole host of others, plus great scenery and loads of pretty flowers.
