I love Botanical Gardens but this one had an unexpected and exciting twist, a wooden-slatted cool house with a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely a must-see particularly on a hot day!

At over 100 years old I really love the history at this aquarium. So many great species to see, the invertebrates from the local waters were interesting too! I like visiting aquariums when I go on holiday for a chance to see the local additions to the tropical species.

My boyfriend and my favourite district, lovely and atmospheric with plenty of cool things to see in the day and then by night it really comes alive with 'fado' cafes playing traditional portuguese music.

My husband and I loved this gallery, such a great collection of Russian art. As always, I liked the sculptures the best but the graphic artworks caught my eye too.

Since seeing these magnificent domes on QI's opening credits i've wanted to visit and I was not disappointed. The exterior I could have looked at all day. Inside isn't so fantastic as it's largely small corridors and small chapels but they haev their own charms. And you can look at the outside for free whenever you go past!
