Old Cairo

Such a fascinating place! Still partially walled-in this small area was the Roman foothold in Babylon, and formed the heart of the christian community of that era. Within a small stretch you can see the oldest Christian place of worship in Cairo, the first mosque in Egypt and the oldest synagogue too. Amazing.

This is just a great place to go, we went several times during our holiday in Vancouver and saw different bits of it. The best was the beaver lake and the sculptures, although we didn't get a chance to head out to prospect point.

My girlfriend and I spent a lovely afternoon wandering about this island looking at all the shops they have there (ok, she was) and the highlight for me was the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design. Great.

Oh. My. The shops here are totally awesome! So much to see we spent the best part of 2 days and nearly all of our budget here!! Roots Canada and London Drugs are now officially two of my favourite shops!
