Shatin racecourse

posted by ksaltser on 2 February 2011 at 12:33

If you take the KCR out of Hoing Kong, it's only a short ride to Shatin and here you can see horse racing. The entrance fare is a token 10 HKD and it's easily worth that to see some fervent horse experts gambling away the afternoon. A really fun time.

Pueblo Chico

This is my kids' top attraction in Tenerife, I wouldn't like to guess how many times we've been here. It is pretty sweet with its miniature attractions from all round the island, and the grounds are good too so you can have a good stroll.

Paloloem Beach

posted by ndean on 2 February 2011 at 12:26

It's really worth seeking out the more secluded and under populated beaches of Goa as the incessant hasstle you get on the well known ones can get very tiresome. Palolem Beach is really pretty, the waves aren't to strong, the sand is really fine and white and the palm trees are beautiful. Give it a go!

Ashwem Beach

posted by wguess on 2 February 2011 at 12:20

This is a beautiful little beach about 30 minutes away from the well known spots like Calangute. One of the things I loved about this beach aside from how relatively untouvhed it is, is the fact that you can walk 100 metres out to sea with out getting any higher than your waist wet. I'd never seen such a shallow beach. Definitely come to avoid crowds.

Experience Gaelic Games

posted by rlalty on 2 February 2011 at 12:19

My mates and I went to Dublin on a stag do and we went to try our hand at Hurling and Football, which was a great laugh. Really good fun, at least until the competitive instincts kicked in!!
