Sarigerme Beach

Gorgeous beach, I heard about it when the Hilton opened there and was determined to go (although the Hilton's a bit ourside my budget...) when I flew into Dalaman for a small tour of Turkey. The best beach I went to on my trip.

La Brea Tar Pits

posted by rbyre on 21 January 2011 at 12:11

My girlfriend is something of a dinosaurophile, and has seen all the hollywood films so insisted we came here to the tar pits where fossils are regularly uncovered. Despite the huge fake animals in the tar the Museum of La Brea Discoveries really is fascinating.

Norton Simon

Sounding much like a computer program, this was actually a great little art museum that we came across, featuring loads of European art. None of the major works but loads of gret lesser known pieces by some of the greats. My husbnd and I really enjoyed it here.

Legoland California

posted by gdouza on 21 January 2011 at 12:07

As a compromise with the kids, we went to LA but pomised them a day at Legoland, which we were largely dreading. Actually it was quite fun, the kids enjoyed it so much. We got wet, be got a bit scared and we escaped the pirates!

Whale Watching

posted by kzoucks on 21 January 2011 at 12:04

It was my birthday when we were on holiday in LA and my parents surprised me with a whale watching trip. It was so cool, I loved it. The whales and dolphins were quite far away for the most part but so exciting to see them.
