I think it's possible to visit something unbearably famous evey day on your holiday in Los Angeles, and for me this was the highlight. The main building is amazing too but it's the sprawling collection spread over 9 buildings that really amazed me.

Grauman's Chinese Theatre

The place of dreams, home to huge movie premiers and the uber-famous prints in the floor. We went to see these in the daytime as well as the absolutely spectacular building, and were really lucky, on our last night "How do you know" was premiered there and we queued up and saw Reece Witherspoon. Eeeek!

World famous, it was another in my long line of 'must do' things in LA and I was blown away! Everything that was promised and more, so many toned hunks everywhere and great street performers, and theat was before I even made it in for a surf...

west of the city, north venice boulevard is the best way to get there

Griffith Observatory

posted by gmackendoerfer on 12 January 2011 at 11:45

My kids and us went here for an afternoon to look round and try and catch a show at the Leonard Nimoy Even Horizon Theatre, and we hit the jackpot! We got to see a demonstration on how to make a comet from household items! The children were captivated and my wife and I were also really interested. Great place.

Gumbet Views

As Gumbet is on a hill there are great views from loads of places, just spend some time walking and you'll be sure to find a good place to sit and enjoy the view and the word going by. The sea is such an amazing colour and the scenery is pretty spectacular.

All over the resort, obviously the higher you climb the better!
