Royal Ontario Museum

A fantastically diverse museum, you never know what you're going to find from one place to the next, venetian glass, dinosaur bones and a ming tomb all live happily in close proximity. And there's great hands-on exhibits for the young'uns too.

High Park

Visiting friends in Toronto, we went here quite a bit. They are outdoorsy types and like to walk, but wanted some activities for me too so this was perfect. Sadly Shakespeare season was over but i loved the small zoo and the lake. And if only i was smaller the kids' playground was so appealing!

Canada Wonderland

My family visited Toronto in September and had such fun here at the weekend, there was so much to do! Mini-golf was a highlight, once the adults managed to curb their competitive juices and let the kids have a go, and I liked just chilling looking at the lovely surroundings from the edge of the water park where everyone else was wearing themselves out!

Slave Market

What was once the darker side of Portugal, and not a great memory from history is now an inviting art space where they sell great local art. Sadly i didn't think my luggage allowance would allow the huge canvas I had my eye on...

Praia de Beliche

posted by jwells on 10 December 2010 at 11:29

A wonderful sheltered beach with lots of coves so you can really feel like you've gor a bit to yourself. The surf here was great most of the week we were on holiday so there was no real need to go anywhere else.
