Edinburgh's rich writing history is paid tribute to in this, my favourite museum in the city. It might not be the most exciting or the largest, but to me it's perfect.

Just when you start thinking that everything modern in Barcelona is by Gaudi, this comes along! Salvador Valeri i Pupurull designed the colourful 'futuristic gingerbread house' which is so interesting to look at, I totally fell in love with it.

It's such a treat to be able to go on a holiday where you can go sightseeing in the morning and lounge on the beach in the afternoon. You can even get a massage right where you are lying if you want. Loads of space, lovely clear water, perfect for when the sun is out.

The best areas we found for food, particularly tapas, seems to be more popular with locals than tourists which is alwasys a good sign for great food! Used to be used for jousting and knighting, look out for the only remaining gothic house at no. 17.

My man and I took a tour to Girona and Figueras one day when we were in Barcelona, and we thorougly enjoyed it, as well as the chance to see a bit of the catalan countryside. The jewish quarter walking tour in Girona was fabulous but the Teatre Museu Dali was the highlight of the day without a doubt.
