Noordhoek Beach Horseriding

posted by msanders on 2 December 2010 at 09:47

I absolutely loved this trip, we went to the beach, where we rode the most lovely horses across the huge beach and across some wetlands. The amount of wildlife was unbelievable, we were lucky enough to see a flock of flamingoes but sadly no whales or dolphins were seen. Great fun, totally exhilarating.

Wow, it's really cool to see this really old settlement, and they've renovated a small bit so you can really see what it would have been like. I'd like to come back when they've finished excavating the site to see the whole village, it's crazy to think that people lived here in 6000BC!

I don't think i've ever been to anything so old! Amazing! The tombs here date back to 80BC and were made by the Phoenicans. The church is said to have healing properties although I didn't try the walk-three-times-round-and-leave-an-item-of-clothing myth out so I guess I can't complain i'm not 100% fit and healthy!

Dhekelia Beach

posted by hjardine on 2 December 2010 at 09:20

My girl pals and I were staying near this beach and we went there practically every day. Great facilities, friendly people and the water is wonderful. In the evening, sometimes locals make bonfires to cook on and we were lucky enough to get invited to one!! If not there's loads of places to eat there too, even plenty for homesick stomachs like pizza hut and fish and chips!

where, when, how, web
it's the beach in front of most of the hotels, some areas are private or you can pay a small amount to use them

Golf

I never knew Cyprus was such a haven for golf, but with three great courses it's definitely on the up in this respect. Green fees are reasonable, the clubs I hired were good, and best of all I got some peace and quiet which is just the ticket when you're on holiday!

where, when, how, web
you'll need a car to get to them as they are all located in the southwest of cyprus, not really a big drive though
