Barut Lara Resort

This is a great resort to stay in, with some wonderfully friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms and lots of amenities. There are a lot of swimming pools to choose from and a similar variety on the dining front. Some of the restaurants you will need to book for. There is a lovely beach and plenty of entertainment as well as an animation program to help get kids involved in activities.

Beach House Hermosa Bay

For the quintessential Los Angeles experience nothing beats Beach House at Hermosa Beach. Only 10 minutes from the airport but feels like a different world. The ideal boutique hotel.

Isola de Sant Erasmo

This is a wonderful little island in the lagoon, within Vaporetto reach of the main town. It's a former Roman Pleasure Ground though there aren't any monuments on the island. The fruit and veg farms are really beautiful and it's a really pleasant change from the tourist infested over-pricing of Venice.

San Giorgio Maggiore

This is the island visible from St Mark's Square. It takes only about 5 minutes to get there from the mainland and is worth the visit. Take the water bus 82 from Zaccharia. You can explore the harbour area, and check out the Greek church. You can also get up the bell tower for some incredible views back over the town.
