O Marafado

The best tapas bar in the area. Just a short drive out of the centre of Lagos situted with brilliant views of both the seas and the mountains.

Koh Kret

posted by khegarty on 30 November 2010 at 10:37

This is a great escape from Bangkok. You can get the boat there down the Chao Phraya River. Its a little collection of islands, criss-crossed by canals, with an elevated walkway running around it. There are a number of little villages here which are fun to explore and a good place to buy local produce. There are also some stunning temples here which date from the Ayutthaya period.

Dona Ana Garden

posted by yalliman on 30 November 2010 at 10:30

Our family rented one of the three bedroom apartments which was exactly what we needed. The apartment was well equipped and only a short walk to the lovely Dona Ana Beach and 15 minutes walk into Lagos.

Parque de Campismo da Trindade

posted by rhooker on 30 November 2010 at 10:25

The main campsite for Lagos, Parque de Campismo da Trindade is certainly not the best campsite I have stayed in. The toilets are basic and the cafe didnt really offer campers much choice.

Chao Phraya River

posted by ybranson on 30 November 2010 at 10:17

You can get boat tours of the Chao Phraya, which is bangkok's main waterway. The price is only 10 baht which is really reasonable and you'll see a lot of the town including great views of the grand palace and Temple of Dawn. If you can get off at Thewes, I'd really recommend it as the flower markets there are really vibrant and quite gorgeous.
