Floyd Lamb Park

So lovely to getr away from the bright lights and madness of the strip for a bit and this is just perfect. The park is set on an oasis and the lushness is so relaxing. The tule springs ranch is an interesting place to spend soe time, with fossils found in the area. Lovely for a lunchtime picnic and afternoon wander.

Mermaids at the Aquarium

Yes your eyes don't deceive you, there really are mermaids in this aquarium. Well, to be totally truthful, mermaid shows every half an hour. The aquarium is beautiful, salt water with some stunning fish and then the mermaids arrive and it's pretty mad but fun!

Adventure Canyon, Buffalo Bill's

My kids loved this attraction the best of everything and I think we did it at least twice a day for the remainder of the weeneknd (whilst their dad went off gambling of course). A fun log flume and then a wild-west style shoot-out adds that must-have-more competitive edge!

Royal Yacht Britannia

I once saw this sail past with the queen in when i was in cornwall so it was cool and mad to go on board. You can tell it used to have the queen there, really lavish and the afternoon tea was pretty good too.

Ocean Terminal, Leith, easy to get there on lothian buses but you must have the right fare (1.20) else they'll not let you on, or charge you extra

Water of Leith

As an avid fisherman I really enjoy going to new places and when I went to Edinburgh my friends took me here. A lovely quiet place, free permits and a great haul of brouwn trout for the freezer, what more could you want from your day out?
