Marmaris Itinerant Market

posted by pkifer on 4 November 2010 at 16:06

This is the best place i found to get things in MArmaris, but it's only there on a thursday so you have to be on the ball. Locals come from all around to sell their things, food, produce, materials, clothing, it's all there and you can haggle to a great price too!

Gulet Trip

posted by qlalty on 4 November 2010 at 16:02

My friends and I were lucky enough to be treated to a private Gulet (type of boat) trip by a rich guy trying to impress us. The boat was just heaven, nothing but sunbathing, swimming in the sea and exploring new beaches, but I was glad when we could escape him! Go! But pay your own way...

Turkish Bath

posted by pwise on 4 November 2010 at 16:00

I had a traditional turkish bath at a little place near the castle and it was heavenly. The bubble massage was great and i felt so clean and relaxed afterwards.

Capitoline Museums

posted by wwegley on 4 November 2010 at 15:43

These museums (linked underground under the Campodoglio Square) contain so many wonders of rome that my husband and I had to go back a second day to appreciate them all, since we only got there in the afternoon on the first day. It's well worth taking your time over.

where, when, how, web
Piazza del Campidoglio, up the flight of steps you see when you pass the piazza venezia on your left (it really is worth the climb!

Trajan's Column

posted by kjackson on 4 November 2010 at 15:43

I loved the carved reliefs on this column and followed the story up as high as I could see (much to the annoyance of my wife I suspect). I would have loved to see it when it was all coloured and gilt. Really impressive craftsmanship, would get higher billing if not for all those other roman bits littering the city!!

where, when, how, web
Via dei Fori Imperiali, if you're looking at the 'wedding cake' in piazza venezia it's to your left
