Believed to be where Christopher Columbus stopped over, this is a delightful place, my wife and I really enjoyed the pretty peaceful surroundings and learning about the cross-atlantic relationship between the canaries and the americas. lovely.

Kos Town is the capital of the island and where the main port is situated. There is plenty to see and do here, including the Castle of the Knights of Saint John which is worth a visit. The better restaurants, cafes and bars are here.

Dikeos is the highest mountain of Kos and once you reach the summit you will be rewarded with spectacular views over the northern coastline. You will need a car to get you to the top unless you are a confident hiker.

Really lovely gardens and a good selection fo animals form cute to quirky. I love penguins and it was easy just to sit and watch them for ages. And at the end of the day the bar was a good place to rest a bit before heading home!
