The old part of dubai is sooooo different from the modern bling you see pretty much eveywhere. It's really amamzing to see the old buildings and to try to imagine a time when everything looked like that.

My husband loves scuba but I just can't get into it, although I love reefs and fish etc. My solution? I went a couple of times to see the underwater gardens on a glass-bottomed boat, which was amazing, and then i spent the rest of the holiday sunbathing!

I love scuba but sometimes I get the feeling that i'm missing some of the best fish or i don't get to look at them closely enough. So on my last day last time I went to hurghada I went to the aquarium. It was really great there they had loads of fish, some familiar and some not so, all nicely labelled. Excellent.

We decided to take the kids with us for the first time this year and the biology museum was a great introduction to the reefs and fish in the area. it was reall informative and child-friendly.

I came to Hurghada for the reefs but was pretty loath to miss out on all the Egyptian history whilst I was there so I was really pleased to find the national museum. It's not the largest place but there are some great bits in there and you really get a sense of the long history of the area.

Right on the coast, pretty central, sorry i don't have a street name but people will be able to tell you!
