The views from the tower are really great and it's really intersting to see the old city fortifications of the cty wall and the sea wall. There are plenty of places to eat and having been there a couple of evenings i'd say it's hard to pick a bad one!
where, when, how, web
Along the sea front from the main centre of the city, it's pretty hard to miss!

Dificult as it was to drag myself away from sunbathing, I managed to visit this mosque and see its stunning minaret, one of the most famous buildings in the city and one of the first islamic buildings built there. The minaret is a sight to behold, exquisitely decorated and an imposing 38m high. The museum inside the mosque is also really interesting and gives you an insight into the lifestyle of the local people.

It's right in the centre of the city, follow iskele cd from the harbour

I love to go self-catered on holiday so a big draw for me is always the local market. I went there quite early one morning and saw only locals and chefs. The market is pretty great and with such amazing local produce and the freshest fish i rarely felt the need to go out for dinner, instead i just sampled the fabulous fare 'at home'.
where, when, how, web
Just across the rialto bridge, don't be afraid to dive in and explore, the veg and fish are to the right along the water.
