Turkish Bath

posted by vchristopher on 13 October 2010 at 12:32

My girlfriends and I went for a turkish bath on our trip and it was really good. The bath feels like a sort-of ritual and the soap massage was geat, i felt so refreshed afterwards. We went to the Rayola Bath who offer a free transfer there and back for groups so it was really simple.

where, when, how, web
Call the number on the website and they will arrange a transfer, or go to any of the major baths.

Fabric Bazaar

posted by ymays on 13 October 2010 at 12:30

Tuesday is fabric market day at the Bodrum marketplace, and it was such a beautiful sight! I went expecting food (thursday and friday, also fabulous) but found the most amazing array of local fabrics in all the colours under the sun. I bought way too much really but now my house is festooned with a lovely turkish feel!

Rabbit Island

posted by xpritchard on 13 October 2010 at 12:29

We took a day trip out here and it was really fun to wade across the causeway. The island is really pretty with little ruins hidden here and there and the sunset is simply gorgeous. Just watch out for the tide coming in and having to be waist deep on the return wade!!

About 20km west of bodrum, we drove our hire car and it was pretty simple.

Canal D'Amour

posted by ppowers on 12 October 2010 at 17:53

I took my boyfriend to the 'Canal of Love' to spend a quiet day together in what I thought might be the remote Greek coastline. We did find it to be a little crowded but that did not take away from the beauty of the landscape and warmth of the turquoise sea.

Sidari

posted by dholts on 12 October 2010 at 17:50

Sidari is a pretty village in the North West of the island. The locals tell me it has become too crowded now but when we visited - slightly out of season it was the perfect holiday destination.
