Segway tour

posted by dwegley on 20 September 2010 at 15:58

A fun and fast way to get to know the city, I went with friends and we laughed the whole way round (we had to wear serious safety equipment) but enjoyed the sights too! The sad part was that we didn't stop to go in anywhere but it gave us a great idea of places to go back to.

where, when, how, web
really central, 12 pena street (calle), a short walk from the harbourside and right near picasso's house

Muang Boran (Ancient City)

posted by ddrabble on 20 September 2010 at 15:20

At 2 hours from Bangkok it is a bit of a trek but my boyfriend and I loved the place. We hired bikes and explored ancient thailand at the world's largest outdoor museum. Simply mind-blowing collection of things and i learned sooo much!

where, when, how, web
about 40km south of the city we were lucky enough to get a lift but i did see a bus en route too

Lumphihi Park

posted by dwise on 20 September 2010 at 15:19

One of the few parks in Bangkok there are lots of interesting things going on here, perfect for a good bit of people-watching. There's a couple of weights areas where we laughed at wannabe beefcakes and a lake where we hired one of those fun swan pedaloes. The views of the highrises are also pretty spectacular.

where, when, how, web
Silom Subway Station or Sala Daeng Skytrain Station, not far from the centre
