A lovely change from the city sights, my grandparents and I loved this pretty garden, in particular the rose garden which we were lucky enough to see at the peak of its beauty.

Zoo lake

My boyfriend and I loved this trip and it was pretty romantic boating on the lake. The ducks just cry out to be fed and when you're hungry yourself the tea garden is a lovely place for a bite to eat.

Lesedi Cultural Village

posted by wmackendoerfer on 20 September 2010 at 11:47

This is a great one-stop-shop for getting some culture. The village is geared towards the education of tourists and combines culture from several different parts of south africa. We stayed the night and really immersed ourselves in the events which was great, and the dance was amazing.

where, when, how, web
on the r512 north out of the city, own transport is probably a necessity

Sun City

What a great place to go! my wife and her sister spent the day shopping and being pampered whilst us boys and the kids went to the water park which was totally sweet. We all met up for a delicious meal at the end of the day and decided to come back again on our next trip to j-burg.

where, when, how, web
a 3-hour drive N-W of johannesburg we hired a mini bus (with sat nav of course) and took a day trip and it was definitely worth it
