Curry with a twist - you'll find all the traditional dishes here, but look to the chef's specials at the lovely little curry house, just off Oxford Street. Possibly one of their best signature dishes is the "Special Stuffed Chicken", a succulent chicken breast, stuffed with a potato, lentil and raisin stuffing, covered in a delicious curry sauce (you know the place is authentic since they keep the curry leaves in). The service is always charming and well worth return visits - on a side note they do deliver within the area. So if you're in a hotel and don't want to move from the comforts of you room, or just working late, it's a perfect oppurtunity to order from this well established curry house.

Occasionally Yo! Sushi graces the public with half-price vouchers. As anyone familar with the conveyor belt style restaurant, the price can add up very quickly - hence a half-price voucher is ideal. The current deal is for the Brent Cross and Brunswick Centre branches only.

A popular Hampstead Heath tea house and cafe displaying quaint English advertising on the walls. Great for a lazy Sunday morning breakfast or brunch. Very friendly staff and great prices. If you're up to the challenge, go for a full English breakfast - or if you saunter in later in day the order the lamb with mashed potato.

Trying to find a good Moroccan restaurant in London isn't hard to find - but most feel over-stuffy and try too hard by piling up the carpets/couches/ornaments and lose focus on the food. Original Tangines certainly doesn't - the food is the best Moroccan I've had - and don't be fooled by the price, a main might cost £13 - but the size of the dish is enough for two people and they include rice or couscous with the tangines (my partner had a lamb and pear tangine and I had the Imperial CousCous - both amazing). The decor is certainly a Moroccan style, but not overdone with lovely gold lighting. The only music is a small stereo in the kitchen, but the crowd it attracts (it was packed and a Wednesday night!) is enough. The wine list is good, but for something a little more authentic - opt for fresh sweetened mint tea.

Want a great meal, but strapped for cash? Viet Noodle Bar is probably as cheap as they come in London, great Vietnamese, Thai and Singarporean food for less than £6 for a main meal. It's no fuss dining in a very low key place. Order the traditional vietnamese cuisine, especially the aromatic Pho (Noodle soup served with a plate of chillis, herbs and fresh bean sprouts, to add at your leisure).
