Sydney Tall Ship Cruise

posted by maggieNY on 18 May 2009 at 20:52

This is a 2 hour cruise on an old 3 mast Danish Sailing ship. A true once in a lifetime experience. They offer a few different type of cruises from a BBQ lunch to a romantic twilight cruise. The guide will give you historic details about the ship as well as the points of interest that you will be sailing past on the harbor. The boat sails rain or shine so dress appropriately. The price is around $80 per person, and less for children. They also offer family packages. Where comfortable rubber soled shoes, and bring your sunscreen and a cushion.

Kroller-Muller Museum

posted by maggieNY on 18 May 2009 at 20:36

After you have done Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and the Hague you may find some extra time on your hands. The place to go to is a short distance away from these major cities in Otterlow. The Kroller-Muller Museum offers world class art (specially Van Gogh) in an environment that you feel like you are the only one in the museum. Room after room of Van Gogh, (many of their collection is on loan to the Van Gogh museum) that you can view up close without one worry about blocking somebody's view. The sculpture gardens are outstanding. The grounds that the museum is on also offers free bikes that you can ride around the extensive grounds on for a complete beautiful day. I had to list this this under Amsterdam, because this site does not list Otterlo as a travel destination.

City Pass

posted by maggieNY on 5 May 2009 at 13:49

The City Pass combines 8 common NYC popular tourist destinations into a ticket book that is over 40% off if you purchased the tickets individually. The City Pass gives you entry to the Empire State Building, the American Museum of Natural History, Hayden Planetarium, Statue of Liberty, Guggenheim, MoMA, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cloisters. You also get to take a day or evening Circle Line cruise around Manhatten or the Statue of Liberty. But here is the best part. You will save about 3 hours waiting time for the Empire State Building alone. The City Pass ticket holders get to go to the head of the line! For that alone I would pay more than the asking price for the City Pass never mind a discounted ticket. If you bought the tickets individually it would cost you $140.00 but the book cost you $79.00 for adult $59.00 for kids.

Teodora's Restaurant

posted by maggieNY on 5 May 2009 at 13:30

Theodora's Restaurant in NYC is a quaint Italian restaurant that offers unique and wonderful food. The house specialty is the lasagna, which is out of this world. You may think you know lasagna, but when you have this one, you will hold it as the standard that all lasagna should taste like.
