Gateshead Millennium Bridge

This is a really inspiring and beautiful piece of modern architecture. It seems so iconic and central to the cultural revamp of Newcastle. Its pretty much impossible to miss it but make sure you don't!

Cohuna Koala Park

This is a wonderful wildlife sanctuary. There are plenty of animals other than Koalas to see here but you can get really close to the Koalas. A great place to take children.

There's an enormous variety of fish and sea creatures here. If you can pluck up the courage you can scuba dive in some of the tanks at certain times.

Albany Artificial Reef

This makes a fascinating sight and a great place to go for a dive if you have a license. Its a reef that has been artificially created inside a scuttled warship, much of which is still intact. Highly recommended.

This gallery has a great collection of Aboriginal art. I thought it was great to see so much in the country's indigenous past.
