I was amazed that this is the only Michelin starred restaurant in Barcelona. It certainly is a cut above the rest though and you'll need to make a reservation.

I think the novelty of being able to head over to the beach to cool off in a major city is the main reason I'd recommend a trip to the Nova Icaria. Its a great place for food too with some lovely restaurants lined up along the beach front.

Don't be deterred by the the fact that the Sagrada Familia is still a bit of a building site inside, it remains the most extraordinary building I've ever seen. Its really inspiring to see craftsmen at work on carvings inside.

You certainly haven't seen Amsterdam until you've explored its canal network. We decided to splash out and take a saloon boat tour. You can book a table and have a three course gourmet meal. Very romantic!

Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum is absolutely massive! You certainly won't be able to see everything here but the colection of Vermeer paintings justify the visit in themselves.
