This is a lovely restaurant and the staff are incredibly friendly - if a bit overbearing at times! The main courses are vast and come with lots of sides. Make sure you try the Kleftiko which is a traditional Greek lamb dish and really delicious.

A Vios Cafe is in the village of Mastihari and serves wonderful meals. The environs are less than ideal though with sports tv blaring out. If you can ignore this, the starters are great and the pizzas are unbeatable - and huge! The carafes of house wine are really delicious and at about £10-£15 a head it's really good value.

This is a great day trip. we were picked up from Mastichari and sailed first kalymos where we docked at the Potkia harbour before heading on to Plati which is a great secluded spot and was lovely for swimming. Before heading back we stopped off at the lovely sandy beach of Pserimos.

This is a really amazing piece of renaissance styale architecture though it was built during the neo classical revival. You can see a statue of Thomas of Aquinas here too. Its definately a sight to see as it towers several storeys off the ground with ornate statues and grand classical decorations.

The Faro Harbour adjoins a beautiful town square with some lovely mosaics. The harbour is small but feels really authentic with fisherman busily working. You can get boat tours from here to the Rio Formosa nature reserve where there are lots of species of indigenous birds.
